Swanland Primary Suite Named SBID Awards 2026 Finalist
We’re proud to share that our Dakota project has been named a finalist in the SBID International Design Awards 2026, in the Residential Design category.
The SBID Awards are among the most respected in the international interior design industry, recognising projects judged on creativity, technical execution and the quality of the finished space. To be shortlisted alongside studios from across the UK and beyond is a genuine honour for our team.
The Brief
Our clients in Swanland, East Yorkshire, asked us to design a complete primary suite: the principal bedroom, a luxury ensuite and his and hers walk in wardrobes. Their ambition was clear from the first conversation. They wanted the suite to feel like the finest five star hotel, yet entirely their own.
The Design
We developed a single, cohesive concept rooted in soft textures and warm neutrals, grounded by dark contrasts and finished with antique brass and walnut detailing.
The defining challenge was how to give three distinct spaces their own character while letting them read as one suite. Rather than dividing them with doors, we used zoning: shifts in wallcovering tone and texture define each area, allowing the spaces to flow naturally from bedroom to dressing to bathing.
The result is a suite that feels calm, enveloping and precisely resolved, where every material and junction has been considered.
A word from our founder:
"What I loved most about this project was bringing together all the tones of brass, bronze, rich browns and champagne. Working with such a limited colour palette meant texture had to do the talking, and I think that's exactly what gives the suite its depth. Every surface has something to discover."
What's next
We’ll be attending the SBID Awards ceremony in London this November, where the winners will be announced.
